The Calm before the Storm

It's Sunday afternoon, July 5, and my suitcase is upstairs, empty. My canvas shoulder bag is filled already with preconvention materials received over the past several months. I'll get all this organized later this afternoon, and then tomorrow morning I'll be setting out bright and early for Anaheim and the 76th General Convention of the Episcopal Church.

My goal is to write a few paragraphs each day for friends, family, and folks back in the parish, and to share observations and impressions along the way.

This is the fourth General Convention that I have attended, but my first as a Deputy.
